Semax nasal drops 0.1%, 3ml

Nootropic drug. Colorless clear liquid.
Semax nasal drops 0.1% – an original synthetic peptide drug, which is an analogue of a fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH4-10) (methionyl-glutamyl-histidyl-phenylalanyl-prolyl-glycyl-proline), completely devoid of hormonal activity. All amino acids are L-form.
Semax nasal drops 0.1% affects the processes associated with memory formation and learning. Semax nasal drops 0.1% enhances attention during learning and information analysis, improves consolidation of the memory trace in patients after neurosurgical interventions, traumatic brain injury, suffering from cerebrovascular diseases, including cerebrovascular encephalopathy; improves the body’s adaptation to hypoxia, cerebral ischemia, anesthesia and other damaging effects. Semax 0.1% is virtually non-toxic with single and long-term administration. It is characterized by wide spectrum of prolonged action, and the absence of hormonal activity and side effects.It does not exhibit allergic, embryotoxic, teratogenic and mutagenic properties. It does not have a local irritant effect.

Pharmacokinetics: Absorbed from the mucosa of the nasal cavity, while digested to 60-70% in percenatge of active substance. Semax is quickly delivered to all organs and tissues, crosses the blood-brain barrier. When being injected into the blood, Semax undergoes fairly rapid degradation and removal from the body with urine.

Indications
Intellectual and memory disorders in vascular lesions of the brain, conditions after traumatic brain injury, neurosurgery and anesthesia, discirculatory encephalopathy, transient ischemic attacks, as well as neurotic disorders of various origins, including after ionizing radiation, the recovery period after a stroke. To increase the adaptive capacity of the human body in extreme situations, to prevent mental fatigue during monotonous operator activity during the most intense periods of work in stressful conditions.
In ophthalmology, Semax is used for optic nerve atrophy, neuritis of inflammatory, toxic-allergic etiology.
In pediatrics: as a nootropic agent in children aged 7 years and older in the treatment of minimal brain dysfunctions (including ADHD – attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
Healthy people may take Semax to stimulate their memory and capacity for work, as well as improvement of the mood and neutralization of stress effects. Semax was tested on operators of the Perm Power Station, and mine rescue workers at the Coal Basin of the Moscow Region (Russia). The results suggest Semax to be potentially used among the following groups of people: operators of atomic and electric power stations, civil and military air traffic controllers, PC users, buisenessmen and officials during negotiations requiring high concentration of attention and memory, drivers and sportsmen.

Dosage:
Drug should be stored with tightly closed cap.
The volume of one drop equals to 0.05 ml (50 ml). One drop of standard solution contains 500 mg of active ingredient.Using a pipette, a solution of the drug in an amount of no more than 2-3 drops is administered into each nasal passage. If it is necessary to increase the dosage, the administration is carried out in several doses at intervals of 10-15 minutes

Contraindications:
-Acute mental conditions;
-Anxiety disorders;
-History of seizures;
-Children under 7 years of age;
-Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Side effects: Prolonged use may cause mild irritation of the nasal mucosa.

Storage conditions and periods
Store in a dark place at a temperature not exceeding 10°C. Do not freeze. Store an opened bottle at a temperature not exceeding 25°C for no more than 30 days.
